Soraya began her career as Manager of Digital Partnerships at The New York Times. There, she positioned the Times on networks such as Facebook and Twitter, established award-winning campaigns. Next Soraya served as Product Lead for drop.io, an online collaboration service acquired by Facebook. She went on to co-found Foodspotting, named by Apple as an app of the year, recently acquired by Open Table. In 2012 Soraya began working on a new company based in New York called ZADY.
